Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

* Work 8-hour shifts with varied start times (7:30 AM, 8:30 AM, 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM, or occasionally 2:00 PM)
* On-call responsibilities required including every other weekend, holidays, and overnight call during the week
* Weekday call hours run from 10:00 PM to 8:30 AM
* Weekend call is 24 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM
* One weekend day of call per month and 3 weekday call shifts required per 30-day period
* Call response time is 30 minutes
* No weekend in-house shifts; weekends are call only
* Rotate holidays with core staff
* Primary unit is PACU with potential flex to Pre/Post or PCU based on volume
* Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
* Common patient diagnoses include total hips/knees, general surgery, daVinci, neuro, and urology; pediatric dental cases on some Fridays with 1:1 ratio
* Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
* Charting system: Cerner
* Scrubs are provided
* Will not float outside of this facility
* Floor-specific orientation of 1-2 days in PACU with a preceptor
* At least 1 prior travel assignment required
* Flexibility to cover call-outs and switch shifts to meet the unit's scheduling needs is very important
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS (AHA)

This acute care facility operates a busy PACU unit supported by a comprehensive team of hospitalists and intensivists available in-house. The unit is backed by 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy services, with an IV team available as needed. The facility handles a diverse range of surgical cases and maintains high standards of patient care with strong interdisciplinary support systems in place.
