Opportunity:

RN - Labor & Delivery / Postpartum / Mother-Baby

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM
* Every other weekend (EOW) schedule required
* Weekend and holiday work required
* Some on-call requirements may apply based on census needs
* Unit-specific orientation is typically 1-2 shifts; must be in state for week of orientation
* Scrubs are provided via scrub vault
* Document using EPIC charting system
* Use OBEX fetal monitoring system; must be able to read own strips and document per AWHONN standards
* Titrate drips including oxytocin and insulin; CRNAs manage epidural rate adjustments
* Provide care across the obstetric continuum including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum/couplet care, triage, and C-section circulating support
* Staff active labor patients receiving oxytocin at a 1:1 ratio; general labor ratios are 1:1-2; postpartum staffing is 1 nurse to 3 couplets
* Provide 1:1 recovery care for post-op C-section patients for 2 hours
* May be floated to MedSurg during low census for aide, sitter, or helping-hands support on a rotating basis
* Some charge nurse opportunities may be available
* Minimum 1 year of specialty experience within the last 3 years required
* 1 year of travel experience highly preferred
* Transition skills preferred but not required
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE Certification

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a comprehensive Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Mother-Baby unit with 13 Labor & Delivery beds, 2 on-unit operating room suites for C-sections, 13 triage beds, and 20 postpartum beds. The unit averages approximately 40-45 deliveries per month and about 500 deliveries per year. The facility maintains a Level 3 NICU high-risk delivery team in-house 24/7, with respiratory therapy located on the same floor. OB providers and neonatologists are available on call 24/7, and anesthesia is in-house when active laboring patients are present.
