Opportunity:
ICU Nights
Job Details:
* Night shift position in the Intensive Care Unit
* Option of 36 or 48 hours per week with 48 hours at straight time allowed
* Patient ratio of 1:2 maintained on days, nights, and weekends
* 6 weekend shifts required per schedule period
* May be floated to MS, Stepdown, PCU, ER, and CVICU with a maximum cap of 4 patients while floating
* First-time travelers accepted
* Minimum 1.5+ years of experience required
* Treats adult patient populations in a 32-bed unit
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drain (EVD), ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, neuro intensive care unit experience, post neurosurgery management, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, suctioning (ETT, NT), titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventilator management
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Pending New Mexico or Compact license accepted but must be obtained prior to start
* 50-mile local radius enforced; local candidates not accepted
