RN - L&D

Job Details:

* Night shift position working 3 times per week
* Every other weekend requirement
* 1 major and 2 minor holiday requirements
* On-call shift required every 2 weeks
* First to float when needed
* 1-day unit-specific orientation provided
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Care for laboring patients, inductions, cesareans, antepartum patients with complications, fetal demises, and triage patients 20 weeks or greater
* Unit averages 3-4 births per day with approximately 1,100 births per year
* Titrate drips including Pitocin, insulin, and magnesium
* Utilize Fetal Link with Cerner EFM system and Cerner charting system
* Monitor telemetry for Magnesium patients and read fetal strips
* Work alongside OB Technician and typically a free charge nurse
* OB and Neonatologist available in-house 24/7
* Light blue scrubs supplied at the facility each shift
* Ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
* Minimum 2 years of current labor and delivery experience required
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NIHSS, NRP

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a dedicated Labor and Delivery unit with 14 L&D beds, 2 OR suites on the postpartum side, and triage conducted within the labor and delivery unit. The facility maintains a high standard of care following AWHONN guidelines and provides around-the-clock OB and Neonatologist coverage. The unit is well-equipped with modern fetal monitoring technology and supports a collaborative care environment with dedicated support staff.
