Open Position: RN - NICU

Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts, either 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Every other weekend rotation required with occasional back-to-back weekends
* No on-call responsibilities
* Block scheduling possible but not guaranteed
* Minimum 2 years of Level III-IV NICU experience required
* Travel experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers will be considered
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and Washington state license; PALS strongly preferred
* Required skills: respiratory support for ventilators, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, medication administration, care plans, and discharge to home
* Highly preferred skills: tracheostomy care and G-tube management; NG/OG experience required
* Care for a variety of patient types including premature infants as young as 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries, feeders/growers, and NAS patients
* Preferred experience with surgical patients and HIE (Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy)
* EMR system: EPIC
* May float to MedSurg or PICU for patients age 1 and under or as Helping Hands
* Scrub color: any

Facility:

This facility is a 152-bed Level II children's hospital featuring a Level IV NICU, which is the second highest designation in the state. The NICU consists of 70 beds with a typical census of around 50 patients, all housed in private rooms. The NICU is part of a pediatric hospital attached to an adult hospital and includes high-risk labor and delivery services, as well as overflow capacity for a Level II Nursery for feeders and growers.
