TRAVEL - RN - PEDS (643)

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* First-time travelers must be willing to work night shift; candidates with multiple years of travel experience are considered first for day shift
* Work on a 36-bed pediatric step-down unit with all private rooms and parent sleeping accommodations
* Patient ratios: 1:3 for step-down patients and 1:4 for basic care patients
* Step-down patients include spinal fusions, chest tubes, and high flow oxygen cases (no CPAP, BiPAP, or trach/vent patients - those go to PICU)
* Perform procedures including NGTs, Foleys, TP Tubes, PIVs, and phlebotomy; LPs occur rarely but occasionally
* Use Philips Monitors and Meditech EMR system; prior Meditech experience preferred
* Minimum 1 year of current pediatric RN experience required
* Must be comfortable with high flow oxygen, spinal fusion, and chest tubes
* Required certifications: BLS and NRP
* On-site parking available free of charge with a bridge that connects directly to the department
* Flexible scheduling with traveler requests considered alongside full-time employee requests

This facility is a dedicated children's hospital offering comprehensive pediatric care across a wide range of specialties. The unit operates with a supportive team environment on a fast-paced step-down floor, staffed with charge nurses, PCTs, and Clinical Nurse Coordinators available as additional resources. The facility accepts all pediatric cases except trauma and burns, and is equipped with modern technology to support high-quality patient care.
