Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

* General Med Surg unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations
* Patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend required
* Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
* All requested time off must be finalized at time of submission - no schedule requests can be made post offer or on-site
* No requested time off can be submitted during orientation week (Monday through Sunday)
* If 1 or 2 holidays fall during assignment, no holiday time off can be requested
* If 3 holidays fall during assignment, 1 holiday time off may be considered
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, traveler is expected to work it; if 2 fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work both; if 3 fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2
* 12 orientation hours required
* Charting system experience required - Epic
* Pyxis and SBAR systems utilized on unit
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, heparin, isolation precautions/PPE, med/surg, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care and management, phlebotomy, renal failure, starting and maintaining IVs, substance withdrawal, surgical drains, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
