CST - Operating Room

Job Details:

* Work 9-hour day shifts Monday through Thursday, either 6:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM (subject to change with notice to include Fridays)
* Minimum 7 shifts per 6-week period required
* Call requirements include 1-2 call shifts per week based on need (end of shift until 7:00 AM next day)
* Weekend call requirement of 1 weekend per month (Friday 7:00 AM to Monday 7:00 AM)
* Holiday on-call required
* Team/self-scheduling available
* Work in a facility with 6 operating rooms and 1 GI suite
* Common cases include adult, pediatric, geriatric, and obstetric procedures
* Orthopedic cases include total joints, ORIF, and arthroscopy
* OB/GYN cases include cesarean sections, LAVH, D&C, and diagnostic laparoscopy
* General surgery cases include laparoscopic appendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, and exploratory laparotomy
* Equipment used includes C-arm, Mako robot, LigaSure, and harmonic scalpel
* Familiarity with total joints and C-sections required; MAKO robot experience a plus
* Floating to other departments not typically required unless prior training exists
* Scrubs provided by facility
* 1-2 shifts of unit/department-specific orientation provided
* Charting system: MEDITECH
* Required certifications: BLS, ND UAP; CST or NCCT preferred
* Facial hair fit testing policy applies: must pass primary or secondary fit test (3M Aura 1860 or 3M 1870+); failure to pass may require Portacount testing
* BSN not required

This acute care facility is a Critical Access Hospital offering a comprehensive range of surgical services across multiple operating suites. The facility supports a wide variety of specialties including orthopedics, obstetrics, gynecology, and general surgery, utilizing advanced technology such as robotic-assisted surgical systems. The department operates with a collaborative team scheduling model and maintains high standards for patient care across adult, pediatric, geriatric, and obstetric populations.
