Job Details:

* Minimum 1 year of emergency department experience required, 2 or more years preferred
* First-time travelers considered dependent on experience
* Treat patients ranging from newborns to elderly
* Typical patient cases include cardiac, respiratory, and orthopedic emergency presentations
* Day shift staffing consists of 4 nurses for 9 beds; night shift staffing consists of 3 nurses for 9 beds
* No formal nurse-to-patient ratios in place
* CNA support available during day shift only
* Charge nurse support available on the unit
* Respiratory therapy available during the day until 5:00 PM with after-hours options available
* Remote monitoring available at nurses' stations for telemetry and SpO2
* Required skills include RSI, IV placement, and cardiac monitoring and assessment
* EMR system: Cerner Community Works
* IV pumps: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Pyxis; Stryker Beds
* Floating not typically required unless agreed upon prior; may float to Intermediate Care Unit
* 2-day orientation
* Every other weekend rotation required
* No on-call requirement
* Holiday coverage based on rotation similar to regular staff
* RTO requests must be submitted to manager for approval
* No scrub color requirement
* Free parking available
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
* Preferred certifications: TNCC, CPI/MOAB

This is a Critical Access Hospital with no trauma designation, operating with 25 total beds and a 9-bed emergency department. The facility provides essential emergency care services to the surrounding community, handling a broad range of patient needs from newborns to elderly patients. The unit is supported by a collaborative team including charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and remote monitoring technology to ensure quality patient care around the clock.
