RN - PCU/Stepdown

Job Details:

* PCU/Stepdown position with cardiac drip experience required - ability to titrate and manage drips is a hard stop requirement
* Neuro experience required for select requisitions; heavy neuro unit with willingness to learn required for all
* Patient ratios of 1:3-4
* Every other weekend required
* Block schedules not required
* No on-call required
* 48-hour shifts approved
* 36 orientation hours
* Position may float between units; if overstaffed, travelers are first to float to Tele or MS floors
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Daily census of 48 patients; 48 rooms and 64 beds on unit
* Charting system: Epic (required, hard stop)
* Scrub color: Any color for RN
* No parking fee
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, craniotomy, CVA, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Patient diagnoses include neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry
* Unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation, and NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* Candidates may choose one holiday - either Thanksgiving or Christmas - but cannot have both
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during submittal
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, completed during compliance process and prior to start

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center as well as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it provides a dynamic and educational environment for healthcare professionals. The facility offers comprehensive neuroscience services, including stroke, epilepsy, and spine care, all supported by JCAHO designations and interdisciplinary interpretation services.
