IMCU/Step Down RN

Job Details:

* Position may float between units as needed
* No on-call required
* Weekends required - 6 shifts per schedule period
* Block schedules not required
* Expected patient ratio of 1:4
* Day shift patient ratio: 3.6 | Night shift patient ratio: 4
* Special requirements include cardiac drips, post cath lab procedural care, and trach/vent management
* 48-hour shifts approved
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Minimum of 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred
* Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Daily census of 30 with 32 beds and 32 rooms
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Dress code for licensed nursing personnel (RN, LVN): solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrub attire; scrub tops may have colored piping; print tops are not acceptable
* Free parking available in any unrestricted surface parking lots designated for Employee/Visitor Parking
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* Common patient diagnoses include AFib/RVR, NSTEMI, ARF, Sepsis, Pneumonia/COPD, HTN, CHF, closed fractures/trauma, AMS/TIA/CVA, and GI bleed
* Special procedures include TAVR, Watchman, TR Bands, sheaths, angiograms, heart caths with or without interventions, trach with continuous vents, and post CABG care
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility features 379 staffed beds and holds a Level II Trauma Center designation. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretarial support. The IMCU/Step Down unit is equipped to handle a wide range of complex cardiac, neurological, and trauma-related patient care needs.
