Opportunity:

RN - ICU

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement (4 weekend shifts in 4 weeks)
* Self-scheduling available with schedules made 30-45 days in advance
* Work in an 8-bed ICU with an average census of 3-4 patients
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2 with 2-3 nurses on per shift
* Common diagnoses include sepsis, DKA, CHF, COPD, and medical-surgical patients
* Required to titrate drips including Levo, heparin, insulin, and dopamine
* Charge nurse takes patient assignments; no nurse aides on unit but unit clerk available
* Hospitalist in house 24/7 with ICU tele-intensivist available 24/7
* Respiratory therapy staff available 24/7 using Via or Hamilton ventilators
* Phillips telemonitors with central monitoring tech support
* Charting system: Cerner (experience preferred)
* First to float; may rarely float to med-surg (1:5 ratio), pediatrics (1:4 if qualified), or ER if qualified
* Unit-specific orientation of 2-3 shifts
* Navy blue scrubs required
* 2-5 years of ICU experience required; must have experience in a smaller ICU setting
* Must be able to work independently, blend into a team/family atmosphere, and hit the ground running
* Will consider first-time travelers
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS, and dysrhythmia certification through AHA
* PALS and TNCC preferred
