Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts in an acute care Emergency Room setting
* Every other weekend requirement with holiday requirement included
* No on-call or standby requirement
* No floating requirements
* Maintain a 4:1 patient-to-nurse ratio in a 21-bed emergency department with 2 trauma bays, 1 resuscitation room, 1 FNE room, and 2 triage rooms
* Manage approximately 50 patients per day including cardiac, respiratory, oncologic, neurosurgery, stroke, and trauma cases
* Triage patients as primary RN, as most patients are roomed within 7 minutes of arrival
* Manage ER holds intermixed within the ED
* Must be competent with pediatric patients as facility is pediatric readiness certified
* Perform EKGs and monitor patients using telemetry, printing and placing strips in chart per standards of care
* Draw labs for approximately 90% of patients as primary nurse
* Work with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen equipment
* Utilize portable X-ray within the ED and coordinate CT transport with radiology department
* Document using EPIC electronic medical records system
* Navy scrubs required
* Must have a valid driver's license at time of submittal
* Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, ENPC, NIHSS, NRP, PALS, TNCC, and a de-escalation class or certification

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a comprehensive Emergency Room and Trauma Center equipped with 21 private rooms, 2 trauma bays, a resuscitation room, a forensic nurse examiner room, and dedicated triage and psychiatric seclusion rooms. The department is supported by in-house security, charge nurses available 24/7, a house supervisor on staff around the clock, and 1-2 CNA techs per shift. The facility is pediatric readiness certified and provides specialty support for a wide range of conditions including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, oncologic, and trauma cases.
