Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with multiple shift time options: 6:30 AM?7:00 PM, 7:30 AM?8:00 PM, 9:30 AM?10:00 PM, 11:30 AM?12:00 AM, 2:30 PM?3:00 AM, or 6:30 PM?7:00 AM
* Day shift position with every other weekend requirement
* Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays, rotating with core staff
* Must have 3?5 years of previous emergency department experience
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
* EMR system: Cerner FirstNet; must be able to read and interpret own monitor strips
* Unit consists of 26 beds/trauma bays and a 5-bed fast track area
* Patient ratios: 3:1 to 4:1
* Registered nurses are responsible for all lab draws; no IV team on site
* Must be comfortable working with ventilated patients
* Scrub color requirement: Navy Blue for RNs
* No floating required
* Orientation includes Education Across Lifespan Trauma module: 1 day with supervisor, 2 days with preceptor
* Common diagnoses and patient types include STEMI, CVA, minor complaints to trauma, adult and pediatric patients; Level 2 trauma center seeing approximately 40?160 patients per day
* Hospital cancellation policy allows up to 4 shifts cancelled per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks

This acute care facility operates a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 55,000 visits per year, functioning as both a STEMI and CVA receiving center. The emergency department features 26 beds and trauma bays, a fast track area, 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support, and a dedicated charge nurse with no patient assignment. The facility is a Level 2 trauma center equipped to handle a broad range of cases from minor complaints to critical trauma, with access to on-site pediatric care and support from a nearby children's hospital for critical pediatric patients.
