Opportunity:

RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

* Night shift position from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* 36 or 48 hours per week with rotating shifts
* No on-call responsibilities
* LDRP model unit - Baby Friendly LDRP unit with a Level 1 newborn nursery (no NICU on site)
* Minimum 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
* Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
* Must be strong in maternal and neonatal stabilization
* RNs with OR scrub experience are welcomed and preferred
* EPIC experience required; GE Centricity and Keriton charting system experience required
* Perform physical and psychosocial assessments with consideration of age and cultural differences
* Initiate and manage multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans for patients
* Demonstrate clinical judgment in managing perinatal emergencies including crash C-sections, precipitous delivery, and shoulder dystocia
* Assess fetal and maternal well-being, amniotic fluid status, and vaginal bleeding during Labor and Delivery
* Manage pain control for laboring patients including support with epidural catheter placement
* Educate patients and families throughout all stages of the perinatal and postpartum period
* Supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
* Current RN nursing license in state of practice required

This facility is a 122-bed acute care hospital that has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. The facility provides exceptional care across a wide range of specialties including emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical, and outpatient services. The Labor and Delivery unit operates as a Baby Friendly LDRP model with a Level 1 newborn nursery on site.
