Opportunity:

NICU RN

Job Details:

* Every other weekend requirement
* No on-call requirement
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Charting system: Epic
* Patient ratios: 1:1-3
* Care for stable premature babies in Special Care Nursery (typically 30+ weeks)
* Perform phototherapy, Bubble CPAP, UV lines, and chest tube procedures
* Assist attending deliveries with Neonatologist
* Assist in labor with newborn assessments
* Attend high-risk deliveries
* Float within skillset required without exception; ratios vary based on census, patient acuity, and staffing
* Hospital-provided scrubs
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Active NJ or Compact license required at time of submission
* Unit-based competency, medication, and EKG testing required with a passing score of 80%; only one attempt allowed

The Level II Special Care Nursery provides specialized care for stable premature infants requiring close observation or treatment for mild to moderate medical conditions. The unit offers neonatal respiratory support, phototherapy, thermoregulation, and developmental care in a family-centered environment.
