Job Details:
* Minimum 2+ years of high-level acute OR experience required; adult and pediatric experience will be considered
* First-time travelers accepted with 5+ years of experience
* Scrub a wide range of case types including neonates through adult-sized patients, developmentally delayed and/or congenital anomaly cases, pediatric traumas (MVAs, GSWs, shaken baby), neurosurgery (craniotomies, EVDs, shunts), spine (scoliosis repairs, spinal injuries), urology, gynecology, orthopedics, oncology, ENT, and general GI-related surgeries
* Preferred but not required experience in dental, ophthalmology (strabismus repairs), and robotics (DaVinci XI)
* Required certifications: BLS, CST
* Washington state license required - must be in hand or have proof of application submitted 6+ weeks prior
* EMR system: Epic
* Shift times vary: 8-hour days (6:45 AM - 3:15 PM), 10-hour days (6:45 AM - 5:15 PM), 12-hour days (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), or 12-hour nights (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM)
* Scrub colors provided by facility
* Weekend rotation unlikely but possible if weekend staff are unavailable
* On-call required for day shift: approximately 2 weeknights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and 1 weekend (7:00 PM Friday - 7:00 AM Monday) every 6 weeks with a 30-minute response time; night shift is not required to take call
* Float to PICU to assist with procedures and NICU as needed
* Preferred skills include robotics, high-level neuro, ophthalmology, and dental cases
Facility:
This is a Level II pediatric trauma center with 152 total licensed beds and a 70-bed Level IV NICU. The facility operates 8 total operating rooms, including 7 general ORs and 1 CVOR, providing a broad range of surgical services for pediatric and adult patients. The organization is equipped to handle complex surgical cases across multiple specialties, offering a dynamic and fast-paced environment for surgical technologists.
