Opportunity:

RN - 4th Floor (Med/Surg Tele)

Job Details:

* Night shift position with 12-hour shifts
* Self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
* Minimum of 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
* Holiday shifts required
* Nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4/5 on days and 1:5/6 on nights
* Nurse aide support available at a 1:12 ratio
* Charge nurse does not take a patient assignment
* No drip titration required; common drips include analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives
* Must be competent in reading telemetry strips; Phillips Telemetry system used and centrally monitored off the unit
* Moderate oxygen needs including CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow equipment
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF, pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, and general Med/Surg patients
* Floating may be required based on department needs, including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele within Zone 3
* Acute care nursing experience required
* Charting system: EPIC
* Required certification: BLS (AHA)
* Navy blue scrubs required
* BSN not required
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Must be within 60 miles of facility; driver's license must be submitted
* Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation

This acute care facility operates a 37-bed 4th floor medical-surgical telemetry unit providing comprehensive inpatient care. The unit features centralized Phillips Telemetry monitoring and supports a diverse patient population with conditions including heart failure, respiratory illness, and general medical-surgical needs. The facility emphasizes collaborative staffing through self-scheduling and maintains dedicated charge nurse and nurse aide support to ensure high-quality patient care.
