Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with start times at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 3:00 PM
* Overtime opportunities available though 48 hours per week maximum will not be scheduled
* Variable start times required with rotation between shift schedules
* Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
* Holiday rotation required, minimum 2-3 holidays during winter with every other holiday otherwise
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 during day shifts, higher ratios at night after 11:00 PM
* After 3:00 AM only 2 RNs on until 7:00 AM
* Average patient volume of 40-60 patients per day
* Common patient types include traumas, STEMIs, strokes, hunting injuries, MVAs, and farm-related injuries
* 14 beds with 2 trauma bays, Fast Track area with 3 designated rooms, and 2 triage rooms
* Travelers may perform triage after review and understanding of facility policies and procedures
* ER holds managed within the department with attached ACU rooms available for overflow
* ED Physician on-site 24/7 along with mid-level providers
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7 for ABGs, breathing treatments, and EKG assistance
* 24/7 phlebotomy services available for lab draws
* X-ray located down the hall and available 24/7; CT accessible through double doors
* No monitor techs; RNs responsible for reading their own strips at central monitoring station
* Floating to inpatient units may be required to assist as helping hands
* Scrub color: any solid color, clean and professional appearance required
* Orientation includes computer-based training and 2 days of floor orientation
* Must clock in and out at the facility
* Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required
* Michigan license must be in hand prior to start
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), TNCC

This acute care facility operates a full-service emergency department with 14 beds and 2 trauma bays, providing comprehensive emergency care services. The department includes a Fast Track area, dedicated triage rooms, and specialized psychiatric accommodation capabilities. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house ED physician coverage, respiratory therapy, and phlebotomy services, ensuring well-rounded support for both staff and patients across all shifts.
