RN - ER

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* No holiday requirement
* Standby/call requirement applies
* First to float policy in effect
* Primary assignment at St. Joseph Medical Center with potential float requirement to St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, WA; St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw, WA; and St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA
* Float to similar floors when required
* Patient ratio of 4:1
* Manage ER holds within the department, with attempts to separate them from the main ED
* Monitor and manage own telemetry strips
* Work in an ER/Trauma Center environment with 8-16 beds/trauma bays
* Common diagnoses include Med/Surg Telemetry patients
* Experience with Med/Surg Telemetry required
* Proficiency with Epic EMR required
* Work with oxygen and SVN respiratory equipment
* In-house security, charge nurse/house supervisor, nurse aides, paramedics, and patient sitters available
* Lab draws performed by phlebotomy team
* House transporters available for X-ray and CT transport
* 1-day unit/department specific orientation
* Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: BLS Certification and Washington State nursing license
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks

The facility provides comprehensive support services including in-house security, charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, paramedics, and patient sitters. The organization utilizes Epic as its electronic medical records system and maintains a strong focus on patient care quality across its regional network of hospital locations.
