Opportunity:

RN - ICU/CCU

Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holidays worked in rotation with permanent staff
* First to float status required
* Float between ICU and CCU units, with possibility of floating to telemetry (1:4 ratio) or ER if willing
* Orientation consists of 2-3 shifts on unit, with additional orientation shifts available for telemetry and ER if needed
* Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2
* 12-bed CCU and 12-bed ICU units
* EMR system: Meditech; Charting system: Cerner
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and advanced EKG dysrhythmia course
* BSN not required
* Scrub color: Navy
* Experience with drips required including cardizem, diprivan, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, fentanyl, and versed
* Ventilator experience required
* RNs are responsible for reading and interpreting cardiac monitor strips
* Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
* All physicians are independent; no hospitalist or intensivist in house
* Common ICU diagnoses include sepsis, CHF, COPD, and vented patients (no CRRT)
* Common CCU diagnoses include post cath, lobectomies, thrombectomies, and spinal cases (travelers cannot take open heart or balloon pump patients)
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
