Job Details:

* First-time travelers are welcome to apply
* Variable weekend shifts required (every other or as needed)
* No on-call requirements
* Block schedules are not required
* Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on patient acuity
* Float required to all units; only patients under the age of 2 on pediatric units; travelers float first
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* At least 1 year of NICU experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrub color: any color for RNs
* Parking is provided at no cost
* 24-hour orientation
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Required skills include but are not limited to: administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line blood draw and care, developmental care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), high frequency ventilation, hyperbilirubinemia management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, meconium aspiration, necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), neonatal abstinence syndrome, neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis, care of neonates under 29 weeks and 29?34 weeks, NICU III and IV experience, nitric oxide (iNO), oscillators, phototherapy, phlebotomy, pre-cardiac surgery, respiratory distress syndrome, seizure disorders, sepsis work-up, therapeutic hypothermia, thermoregulation, tracheostomy care, UAC and UVC management, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), and ventilators managed by respiratory therapy
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation. With 629 total staffed beds, this teaching hospital provides a comprehensive range of medical services. The NICU unit has 61 beds with a daily census of approximately 52 patients, primarily serving neonatal patient populations. Interdisciplinary support services including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams are readily available to support clinical staff.
