Opportunity:

Pathology Assistant

Job Details:

* Day shift position with start time varying between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM
* May work at one of three gross room locations: Main Ruby, Children's, or Innovation Corp
* No weekend or holiday requirements
* No on-call or standby call requirement
* Hospital scrubs are provided
* Perform grossing of simple and complex tissue specimens in Anatomic Pathology Gross Room
* Handle and cut frozen sections approximately 5-10 per day
* Work with an average census of 160 cases per day and approximately 700 blocks per day
* Caseload is approximately 60% smalls, 20% biopsies/moderate, and 20% complex
* Utilize Epic Beaker AP LIS system, cryostat, bone saw, and scalpels/knives
* Charting completed in Epic
* 1 year of experience in specialty required
* ASCP Certification as Pathologists' Assistant required
* Bachelor's Degree required
* Completion of a Pathologists' Assistant program preferred
* Experience in an academic medical center preferred
* Experience with Epic Beaker AP and voice recognition program preferred
* Training will be provided by current Pathologists' Assistants
