Opportunity:

RN - MS-Tele Float

Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* 6-9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
* May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
* Rare call or standby requirement for low census situations
* Float position covering Zone 4 (based around Garden City, KS) - includes Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital (Ulysses, KS), St. Catherine-Dodge City (Dodge City, KS), and St. Catherine-Garden City (Garden City, KS) within a 60-mile radius
* Schedules released 4-6 weeks in advance; travelers expected to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent scheduling
* All time off requests must be submitted prior to starting assignment
* May float into various acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds within skillset), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
* Float units include General MS-Tele and various specialties: Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Obs
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses including Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, and General Medicine
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5-6 based on acuity
* Designated charge nurse on each unit; does not typically take a patient assignment
* Nurse aides available on unit
* Required to titrate Heparin drips
* RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPap on unit
* Charting system: EPIC
* Must have 2 years of MS-Tele experience in the last 3 years
* Prior neuro experience preferred
* Alaris and EPIC experience preferred
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS

The facilities offer a wide range of specialty care including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Orthopedic, Renal, and Trauma services, among others. The organization utilizes EPIC as its charting system and maintains dedicated charge nurses on each unit to support clinical staff and ensure quality patient care.
