Opportunity:

Registered Nurse, Preop/PACU

Job Details:

* Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards
* Perform patient assessments including physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and post-operative planning needs
* Review patient history and physical documentation, diagnostics, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
* Formulate and implement individualized plans of care including discharge planning, incorporating input from patients, families, and health care team members
* Provide direct patient care based on physician orders and nursing plan of care in compliance with policies, procedures, and standards of care
* Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising plan of care as needed
* Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and in a timely manner in the patient record
* May provide relief charge responsibilities for staff and workflow of the department at some locations
* Participate in facility shared leadership and contribute to improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes
* Precept and mentor facility personnel, patients, students, families, and visitors as appropriate
* Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently with ability to lift up to 75 pounds
* Must use standard precautions due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids
* Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing or higher required
* Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice
* BLS and ACLS certifications required
* PALS certification required within 90 days of start date if assigned to ASC services pediatrics
* Core (FT/PT): Minimum one year of licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU (i.e., ICU, ED), or licensed RN with no PreOp/PACU experience enrolled in Perianesthesia Academy with successful completion within 4 months
* PRN: Minimum two years of licensed RN experience in PreOp/PACU required
* PreOp/PACU licensed RN experience strongly preferred
