Open Position: RN - Med Surg Tele

Opportunity:

Job Details:

* Day shift position with 36 or 48 hours available per week
* Patient ratio of 1:7 utilizing team nursing model with support from PCC, RN, and others
* Patient ratio goal of 1:5 with typical ratios of 1:6/7 for days, nights, and weekends
* On-call required as needed
* Weekend coverage required as needed
* 48-bed unit with a daily census of 42 patients
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include CHF, AMI, post cath lab, PPM placements, ablations, and general med/surg cases
* Responsibilities include verifying rhythm strips, managing drips at set rates, and titrating heparin per protocol
* Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Transportation
* Epic charting system experience preferred
* Required skills: Med/Surg, MS/Tele, starting and maintaining IVs
* Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Medical Surgical required; 3+ years preferred
* Level I Trauma experience required
* Large hospital experience required
* Travel experience required; must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
* Must hold an active RN license in the state or a compact RN license compliant with NLC guidelines
* Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
* If assignment includes end-of-year holidays, traveler must be willing to work 2 of 3 holidays if all three fall within the assignment, or at least 1 if only 2 holidays fall within the assignment
* RNs may be floated between like units or campuses within a 20-mile radius
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

This facility is a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center offering a wide range of medical and surgical services. The unit supports a robust interdisciplinary team and serves a diverse patient population with complex cardiac and general med/surg diagnoses. The facility maintains high standards for staffing and patient care, utilizing a team nursing model to ensure comprehensive support for both patients and clinical staff.
