RN - Geriatric Psych

Job Details:

* Work on a 9-bed Geriatric Psychiatry unit located on the fifth floor of the Saint Joseph Campus
* Day shift staffing includes 2 RNs, 2 BHTs, and sitters when assigned
* Night shift staffing includes 1 RN, 2 BHTs, and sitters when assigned
* Patient ratios range from 5 to 9 patients
* Weekend availability required; no on-call responsibilities
* Perform typical unit procedures including vital signs, rapid response, code blue, bladder scans, and blood draws
* Operate equipment including vital signs machines, Hoyer lifts, glucometers, IVs, bladder scanners, bed alarms, chair alarms, and crash carts
* Utilize Cerner EMR system
* Behavioral health and medical experience required; experience caring for geriatric patients strongly preferred
* Must demonstrate caring and compassion, strong assessment skills, ability to work well on a team, and critical thinking
* Ability to de-escalate patients and flexibility preferred
* Dress code: navy blue scrubs or white top with navy blue pants, or all white
* Float to all adult inpatient areas as needed
* Required certifications: BLS
