RN - Cardiac Telemetry

Job Details:

* Strong Cardiac Telemetry experience required
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Self-scheduling
* Patient ratio of 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* 6 weekend shifts required during each 6-week schedule period
* Float to other units and/or campuses may be required based on census needs
* Charting system: Epic (preferred); Pyxis
* Free parking available
* Average daily census: 24 patients
* 24-bed unit
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Care for adult patients with cardiac diagnoses including chest pain and arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation and intermittent ventricular tachycardia
* Manage patients requiring telemetry monitoring, including those with non-cardiac illnesses who have a history of cardiac disease
* Support special procedures including heart catheterization, nuclear stress testing, cardioversion, ablation, and pacemaker/ICD implant or upgrade
* Manage various cardiac drips with maximum titration rates including heparin, cardizem, nitroglycerin, and insulin (pre-procedural only)
* Work with telemetry monitors and perform telemetry monitoring on the unit
* Required skills include: cardiac telemetry, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line care/management, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, PICC line management, peripheral line care/management, PCA, high flow nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, phlebotomy, wound care, post cardiac angiogram, post MI care, pre/post cardiac catheterization, pre/post cardiac surgery, pre/post hemodialysis management, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
