Opportunity:

Behavioral Health/Psych RN

Job Details:

* 13-week contract with possibility of extension
* 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
* Adults patient age group
* Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Travel experience not required - first time travelers accepted
* Scrubs provided in blue (Navy or Royal Blue)
* EMR system: Avatar
* Patient ratios: Adolescent 1:8, Adults/Forensic 1:15-20 depending on unit
* Daily census of 84 patients with 20 beds and 20 rooms
* Required certifications: BCLS, CPI, First Aid, BLS (AHA) - CPI and First Aid can be obtained during orientation
* Required skills include: anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, psychotic disorders, schizophrenia-spectrum disorders, substance use, suicidal behavior, trauma and stressor-related disorders, physical hold protocols, medication administration, blood glucose monitoring, seclusion protocols/procedures, and psychoeducation
* Patient diagnoses include: schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders
* Special equipment includes mechanical restraints
* Interdisciplinary support available: phlebotomy, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* West Virginia or compact license required - pending license acceptable
* Strict attendance policy in place - absences of 3 or more consecutive days due to illness or injury require a doctor's verification and medical clearance note prior to returning to work
* Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 1 of the 3 major holidays
* Block scheduling is not allowed - travelers fill in for shifts not covered by regular staff
* 36 orientation hours required
* Fingerprinting must be completed in West Virginia at least 7-10 business days prior to start
