Opportunity:

RN - Psychiatric/Behavioral Health (Pediatrics)

Job Details:

* Night shift position in a locked/secured inpatient psychiatric unit
* Every other weekend and holiday coverage required
* Patient ratio of 4:1 on nights and weekends
* Unit serves children and adolescents ages 4-18 with diagnoses including ADHD, DMDD, bipolar, psychosis, intermittent explosive disorder, depression, aggression, and autism spectrum disorders
* Facilitate therapeutic groups and complete safety checks
* Assist with ADLs including meal supervision, bathing, toileting, and laundry
* Engage in recreational activities with patients including games and gym activities
* Provide 1:1 sitter supervision for high-risk and acute patients on inpatient unit or in the Emergency Department
* Administer medications and perform nursing assessments
* Complete admissions, discharges, and attend rounds to share patient information with the team
* Provide patient and family education
* Perform nursing interventions for chronic and acute mental health diagnoses with documentation in EMR
* Maintain 1:1 connection with assigned patients
* Participate in de-escalation and code response
* Must be physically able to lift 25 lbs and participate in physical holds/restraints
* Must wear behavioral personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently - provided by facility
* Complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training within first month of contract
* Previous training in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) strongly preferred
* Previous charge nurse experience is a plus
* May require floating within inpatient psychiatry
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a psychiatric setting required
* Pediatric experience required
* Minimum 1 year of travel experience required
* Experience with bipolar, anxiety, eating, psychotic, and depressive disorders preferred
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills required
* Epic charting experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, TCI
* Valid Ohio single state or compact nursing license required
* Must have 2 manager references within the past 12 months at time of submission
* RTO requests must be submitted at time of submission, 5 days maximum, no block scheduling unless Friday through Sunday weekends only
