Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of experience in the emergency department required
* First-time travelers are accepted
* Patient ratio of 1:4, set up in pods with 8 patients between 3 nurses
* Patient population includes geriatric, abdominal pain, chest pain, stroke, psychiatric, respiratory, and approximately 15% pediatric
* Skills required: TNK, conscious sedation, chest tubes, and central lines
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI or MOAB, and NIHSS
* EMR system: EPIC (required)
* IV pumps: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Pyxis
* No floating required
* Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
* No on-call requirements
* 1 holiday requirement per contract
* RTO approvals of up to 7 days available
* Shift times vary: Days (7:00 AM?7:00 PM, 7:00 AM?3:00 PM, 8:00 AM?4:00 PM, 9:00 AM?7:00 PM), Mids (10:00?10:00, 11:00?11:00, 12:00?12:00, 1:00?1:00, 3:00?3:00, 4:00 PM?2:00 AM), Nights (7:00 PM?7:00 AM)
* Schedule cycle: 6 weeks
* MHS Tele Test required prior to arrival
* Orientation includes 1 week of NEO, EPIC training, skills check-off, general site check-off, position-specific check-off, and 2?3 precepted shifts
* Scrub color: Any color, professional attire required

Facility:
This is a 123-bed community hospital operating as a Level 3 Trauma Center. The emergency department features 21 beds, 8 hallway beds, 5 fast track beds, and 4?12 outpatient overflow beds serving as a secondary fast track. The facility offers robust support including 24/7 charge nurses, receptionist/HUC coverage, respiratory therapy, hospitalist services, and telemetry monitoring both at bedside and at the nurse's station. ER techs are phlebotomy certified and many nurses are trained in ultrasound-guided IVs, with a VAT team available Monday through Friday.
