Opportunity:

RN - Special Care Nursery (NICU)

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* 3 weekend shifts per schedule (Friday or Saturday and one Sunday required)
* 1 major and 1 minor holiday required if it falls within the assignment
* No on-call requirements
* Must float to sister facility, Chandler Regional Medical Center NICU
* Minimum of 2 years NICU experience required
* Level 2 NICU experience required; Level 3 NICU experience preferred
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), STABLE
* Navy blue scrubs required
* 2-shift unit-specific orientation required
* Pass/fail Sim Lab assessment for foley catheter insertion required on Day 1 of orientation
* Care for neonates 32 weeks gestational age and above with diagnoses including CPAP, High Flow, feeder growers, R/S Sepsis, and Hyperbilirubinemia
* Typical patient ratios are 3:1, adjusting to 2:1 depending on acuity
* Nurses are responsible for starting their own IVs; certified neonatal PICC team available
* RNs are not required to titrate drips
* Self-scheduling available
* Charting system: Cerner
* BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 12-bed licensed Special Care Nursery averaging 325 deliveries per month with a typical census of 10 patients. The unit is supported by NNPs in house 24/7 and Pediatrician coverage and on-call services around the clock. The facility also has a Patient Care Technician who serves as a Health Unit Coordinator and assists with neonatal patient care, as well as a certified neonatal PICC team to support specialized procedures.
