NICU RN

Job Details:

* 3x12 or 4x12 day shift schedule available
* On-call required
* Weekends required
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks for guaranteed hours
* Minimum 3 years of experience required
* Level III NICU experience required
* At least 1 year of NICU experience required
* Patient ratio of 1:2 on day shifts
* Must be able to attend deliveries and perform newborn admissions - this is a hard stop requirement
* NICU nurse will attend deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitation in OR and at deliveries
* Cares for neonates 27 weeks and above in NICU; attends all deliveries for stabilization and transfer if under 27 weeks
* High-risk, preterm, meconium, and other qualifying deliveries require NICU assistance
* Daily census of 3-6 patients across 12-bed unit
* Self-scheduling unit with no float required
* 24-hour orientation provided
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Royal blue or navy blue
* Free parking available
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required skills include: administration of blood and blood products, antibiotics/antivirals, APGAR scoring, arterial line management, attending high-risk deliveries, blood glucose monitoring, breastfeeding support and handling of breast milk, Bubble CPAP, central line blood draw, developmental care, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), hyperbilirubinemia, insulin administration, isolation precautions/PPE, management of chest tubes, meconium aspiration, neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis, care of neonates 29-34 weeks, oxygen delivery systems, patient and family teaching, phlebotomy, phototherapy, placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes, respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis work-up, starting and maintaining IVs, steroids, surfactants, thermoregulation, UAC, and UVC
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, social services, and pharmacy
* Travelers may be expected to float between nearby sister facilities; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* All RTO must be submitted at time of submission; post-submittal RTO may not be considered or granted

This is an acute care hospital with 277 total staffed beds, offering a comprehensive range of inpatient and specialized services. The facility provides a Level III NICU equipped to care for premature and critically ill neonates, with robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, social services, and interpretation services. The organization maintains high clinical standards and utilizes Epic for charting across its units.
