RN - Telemetry

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holiday rotation required
* No on-call or standby requirement for agency staff
* Nurse-to-patient ratios of 4-5 patients during days and 5-6 patients during nights
* 18-bed Telemetry unit with monitor tech responsible for central telemetry; RNs sign off on strips
* Common diagnoses include stroke, CHF, ACS, CAD, arrhythmias, and post heart cath patients
* Must have drip experience; common drips include Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, and Heparin titration
* Cath lab post recovery (femoral/radial) and stroke care experience highly preferred
* 2+ years of recent Telemetry experience required
* Floating may be required to ICU, Med/Surg, or ER within scope of practice, including ER boarders
* Equipment used includes BiPAP and High Flow
* Nurse aides available on unit; ratio is acuity-based with up to 2 CNAs
* Charge nurse carries a patient assignment; NSO does not
* Charting system: EPIC; Meditech experience is a plus
* Department-specific orientation consists of 2 12-hour shifts
* Scrub color: Any color
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; phlebotomy is a plus
* Illinois nursing license required
* BSN not required

This acute care facility operates an 18-bed Telemetry unit equipped to handle a wide range of cardiovascular and neurological conditions. The unit is supported by monitor technicians, charge nurses, and nurse aides to ensure comprehensive patient care. The facility utilizes EPIC as its primary charting system and maintains modern equipment including BiPAP and High Flow respiratory support to meet diverse patient needs.
