Opportunity:

RRT - Respiratory Therapy

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Friday through Sunday shift schedule
* Clock-in window is between 6:38 AM and 6:46 AM, otherwise considered late
* No on-call responsibilities
* Cancellation policy: 12 hours every 2 weeks
* Must be within a strict 75-mile radius
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 travel contract
* Experience in facilities with 300+ beds required
* Critical care experience required including adult ICU and ventilator management
* Must be comfortable with intubating patients as respiratory therapist serves as first line for intubation
* Must be accustomed to high and heavy workloads
* Average of 13-15 patients per shift with 550 minutes of treatments per shift
* Perform all RT duties including nebulizers, airway management, Vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator management, ABG collection, bedside PFTs, and CPT
* In ICU, responsibilities include placing A-lines, managing blood gases, intubating patients, and performing bronchoscopies
* ICU therapists manage up to 4 airways per therapist per shift
* Adult therapists will see patients ranging from pediatrics to adults
* Common patient diagnoses include COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, and cancer
* Operate Servo vents (U and I models)
* Chart using Meditech EMR system
* Scrub color: Ceil blue only; ceil blue jacket permitted
* Holidays rotated with permanent staff; every other holiday can be expected
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, RRT, PALS, Georgia state license; NRP required if working in NICU

Facility:

This acute care facility is a large hospital with over 300 beds, offering comprehensive respiratory therapy services across multiple units including adult ICU, general floor, and NICU. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house hospitalist or intensivist coverage by MDs or nurse practitioners, as well as 24/7 pharmacy support. The respiratory therapy department operates with a charge respiratory therapist and clinical coordinator structure, supporting a robust team of approximately 11 therapists on day shifts and 10-11 on night shifts.
