Job Details:

* Mixed unit covering PCU, Med Surg/Telemetry, and Med Surg
* 12-hour shifts with variable scheduling
* Patient ratios of 1:4-5
* Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday for both Night and Day shifts) - 12 weekend shifts per contract
* Float required to other areas as needed including ICU, ER, and Behavioral Health based on experience and scope of practice
* No block scheduling available
* No on-call required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted with greater than 3 years of experience
* Patient population includes Adults and Geriatrics
* Common patient diagnoses include Stroke, NSTEMI, Chest Pain, AKI, Pneumonia, COPD Exacerbation, CHF Exacerbation, Cellulitis, and AMS
* Telemetry work setting with required skills in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
* Pilot Team Nursing Model in place (RN and LPN caring for 6 patients)
* Intermediate Care Unit designation
* Medication system: Pyxis
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Safe Patient Handling Equipment used
* Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, Social Services, and more
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Michigan license in hand required - no pending licenses accepted
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Parking: Free
* No locals accepted within 50-mile radius
* Requests for time off greater than 7 days require management approval

This facility is a short-term acute care Level 1 Trauma Center with 25 staffed beds. The facility supports a comprehensive range of interdisciplinary services including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and more. The organization operates with a Pilot Team Nursing Model and upholds high standards of patient care through structured scheduling, strict attendance policies, and a strong teamwork-oriented culture.
