Job Details:

* Assignment length of 13 or 26 weeks at traveler's choice
* Night shift schedule available as 3x12s or 4x12s at traveler's choice
* Guaranteed 60 hours per 2 weeks with the possibility of being called off for one 12-hour shift per 2-week period
* Patient ratios of 1:6 for both bedside RN and CNA
* Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model utilized on unit - each patient is supported by one bedside RN, one virtual RN, and one CNA
* Virtual nurse works remotely to assist with admissions, discharge education, care plans, CIWA monitoring, and physician follow-up
* May float to like/similar medical-surgical units as needed
* Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend based on staffing needs
* No on-call required
* Locals not accepted - candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certification: BLS
* Charting system: Epic
* Scrubs provided by facility
* Parking is free
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Surgical diagnoses include colorectal, urological, gynecological, vascular, EENT, and wound care
* Medical diagnoses include cancer, lung disease, heart disease, diabetes, dementia, and substance use disorder
* Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Required skills: MS/Tele, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions/PPE
* Alaska RN license required in hand prior to start; pending license accepted for submission
