Job Details:

* 12-hour mid shifts with a 10:00 AM start time
* Multiple shift options available: 6:30 AM?7:00 PM, 7:30 AM?8:00 PM, 9:30 AM?10:00 PM, 11:30 AM?12:00 AM, 2:30 PM?3:00 AM, and 6:30 PM?7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Must be available to work 2 of the 3 major holidays, rotating with core staff
* No floating required
* Patient ratios of 3:1 to 4:1
* Must have 3?5 years of previous emergency department experience
* Must be able to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently no monitor techs available
* RNs are responsible for all lab draws no IV team on site
* Work in a 26-bed emergency department with a 5-bed fast track area
* Level 2 trauma center and STEMI/CVA receiving center serving adult and pediatric patients
* Patient volume ranges from 40?160 patients per day with approximately 55,000 visits per year
* Common diagnoses include minor complaints, trauma, STEMI, CVA, and patients with drug abuse history
* Charting system: Cerner FirstNet
* Scrub color: Navy Blue for RNs
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or up to 3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS
* BSN not required

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a high-volume emergency department functioning as both a STEMI and CVA receiving center, as well as a Level 2 trauma center. The department sees a broad patient population including adults and pediatrics, with 24/7 respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available. The facility is supported by 2?3 attending physicians along with mid-level providers, charge nurses without patient assignments, and Emergency Medical Aides who assist with EKGs, splinting, and first aid.
