Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with varying start times: Days - 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM; Mids - 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM; Nights - 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 7:00 PM
* Primary shift start times are 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holidays worked into permanent staff rotation
* Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
* Duos will not be guaranteed the same schedule as facility will schedule as needed
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* 24-bed unit with mid-level staff supporting fast track
* Busy emergency room seeing an average of 150 patients per day
* Treats a mix of adult and pediatric patients with acute and emergent conditions
* Large homeless population served
* Psych holds managed for short periods of time
* Higher acuity patients transported to a higher level of care facility
* Charting system: Cerner FirstNet
* Telemetry system: Philips
* Ventilator experience required
* No floating required
* 2-shift floor-specific orientation provided
* No IV team on site
* Hospitalist or Intensivist in house 24/7
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Pharmacy available in ER during daytime hours
* Scrub color: Navy
* Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience required
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC
* Moderate Conscious Sedation competency testing required prior to start
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or up to 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks

This acute care facility operates a high-volume emergency department treating an average of 150 patients per day, offering comprehensive emergency services for both adult and pediatric patients. The facility maintains 24/7 in-house hospitalist and intensivist coverage along with round-the-clock respiratory therapy support. The emergency department is equipped with modern technology and staffed with patient care technicians to support nursing staff in delivering quality care.
