Opportunity:

GI Tech - Endoscopy

Job Details:

* Work in an endoscopy unit averaging 45-65 cases daily across 8 procedure rooms
* Perform and assist with a wide range of GI procedures including basic EGDs and colonoscopies
* Assist with complex interventional GI cases such as ERCP, EUS, POEMs, and cystgastrostomy procedures
* Support both inpatient and outpatient procedures
* Work alongside respiratory therapists who assist with bronchoscopies
* All cases are supported by an in-house anesthesia group
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Patient ratio of 2:1 during day shifts
* Every other weekend shift required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Self-scheduling
* Maximum of 7 days pre-approved time off per contract
* Holiday work expectations apply based on number of major holidays falling within assignment period
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Travel experience required
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required skills include: administering and monitoring conscious sedation, bronchoscopy, circulating, colonoscopy, EGD, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, pre/post procedure care, recovering conscious sedation, and specimen handling and labeling
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
* 20 orientation hours required

Facility:

This facility operates a high-volume endoscopy unit performing 45-65 cases per day across 8 dedicated procedure rooms. The unit provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. The facility maintains a collaborative environment with in-house anesthesia support for all cases and respiratory therapists integrated directly into the unit to assist with specialized procedures.
