Opportunity:

SEASONAL - TRAVEL - RN - PEDS (643)

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend is required
* First-time travelers must be willing to work night shift
* Candidates with multiple years of travel experience will be considered first
* 36-bed unit with all private rooms and parent sleeping accommodations
* Patient ratios: Step-down patients staffed 1:3, basic care patients staffed 1:4
* Step-down patients include spinal fusions, chest tubes, and high flow oxygen (no CPAP, BiPAP, or trach/vents - those go to PICU)
* Typical procedures include NGTs, Foleys, TP Tubes, PIVs, and phlebotomy; LPs occur rarely but occasionally
* Equipment used: Philips Monitors
* EMR system: Meditech (prior experience preferred)
* Minimum 1 year of current pediatric RN experience required
* Must be comfortable with high flow oxygen, spinal fusion, and chest tubes
* Required certifications: BLS and NRP
* Fast-paced environment requiring team-oriented attitude and willingness to ask for and provide help
* Scheduling flexibility provided - traveler scheduling requests considered alongside full-time employee requests

Facility:

This facility is a dedicated children's hospital offering comprehensive pediatric care in a modern, patient-focused environment. The pediatric step-down unit features 36 private rooms with parent sleeping accommodations and a collaborative team of experienced nursing staff. The facility accepts all pediatric cases except trauma and burns and is equipped with on-site parking connected directly to the department via a bridge at no charge to staff.
