Opportunity:

RN - Family Birth Center (L&D RP)

Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts, every other weekend, first to float
* Patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:4 depending on census
* May cross over to MedSurg if unit is at capacity
* Primarily float to MedSurg for tasking when needed
* Floor-specific orientation provided for at least 2 days per unit, based on experience and comfort level
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* BSN not required
* EMR system: Cerner
* Scrub color: Ceil Blue (hospital issued)
* Charge nurse responsibilities required
* No nurse aides available
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* No IV team on site
* Work holidays in permanent staff rotation
* May be the only L&D nurse on site (facility attempts to have a second L&D nurse on call)
* Expected to care for baby during C-sections with assistance from RT and anesthesia
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM), BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a Family Birth Center delivering approximately 150 to 175 births per year. The unit is supported by respiratory therapy available around the clock and maintains a collaborative environment where nursing staff may assist across units as needed. The facility is equipped with Cerner for charting and provides unit-specific orientation to ensure staff are comfortable and prepared for their assignments.
