Opportunity:

Pharmacist - Inpatient

Job Details:

* 13-week contract with ASAP start date
* Block scheduling: Wednesday through Tuesday, 7 days on, 7 days off
* Weekday shifts: 7:30 PM to 5:30 AM
* Weekend shifts: 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, every other weekend
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* Missouri state pharmacy license required (pending license accepted if in process)
* BLS certification preferred
* PharmD or RPh required
* EMR experience with Meditech required
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* No pharmacy technician coverage overnight; pharmacist is the sole staff member in inpatient pharmacy during shift hours
* Pharmacists are not expected to attend code blues or rapid responses
* In addition to order verification, night shift pharmacist will work from a PharmacyOneSource queue to address clinical alerts
* Required skills include: anticoagulation therapy, clinical dosing, geriatric dosing, high-alert medication management, pediatric dosing, pharmacokinetic dosing, renal dosing, therapeutic medication monitoring, warfarin dosing, antibiotic preparation, compounding, IV piggyback, sterile technique, Pyxis and unit dose medication storage systems, and pharmacotherapy management for cardiovascular, endocrine, infectious disease, pulmonary, and renal conditions
* Preferred skills include: cardiac dosing and drug shortage management
* Serve patient age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Facility census of 60 daily patients across 114 beds
* Keep time off requests to a minimum with no full calendar week off during assignment; all time off must be approved before start

This inpatient facility operates a 114-bed hospital with a daily census of approximately 60 patients. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services. The organization maintains a well-structured inpatient pharmacy operation utilizing PharmacyOneSource for clinical alert management and Pyxis for medication dispensing.
