Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts with weekends and holidays as scheduled
* Every-other-weekend requirement; nights are Friday/Saturday
* Shifts available at 7:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, or 7:00 PM for travelers
* Block scheduling available if it meets the needs of the unit and is in the contract; night shifts are typically a blocked schedule
* No floating required
* Floor-specific orientation of 1 to 2 twelve-hour shifts depending on experience
* Patient ratio of 1:4 for RNs
* Work in a 40-bed emergency department including 2 trauma bays, 7 rapid medical exam beds, and 2 psych/seclusion rooms
* Rapid medical exam area open 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM or 1:00 AM, seeing typical level 3-5 patients
* Average patient volume of approximately 120 patients per day
* Common cases include motor vehicle collisions, STEMIs, strokes, overdoses, behavioral health, and general emergency department presentations
* Charting system: EPIC; previous EPIC experience required
* Vents in use: Servo U, Hamilton G5, Hamilton T1, Philips Respironics V60, AirVo and MaxTech high flow heated system
* Monitoring system: Phillips hard-wired with central station; no monitor technician
* Pharmacy available in-house 24/7 using Omnicell; respiratory therapy available in-house 24/7
* No IV team; nurses and patient care technicians draw labs
* Scrub color: Navy blue; navy or white jacket; white or navy undershirt; natural hair color required; distasteful tattoos must be covered
* BSN required
* Minimum 2 years of previous emergency room experience in a similar size and volume facility required
* Previous travel experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS, PALS (AHA), TNCC
* Preferred certifications: CEN, TCRN, CPEN

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a high-volume emergency department with 40 beds, including dedicated trauma bays and a rapid medical exam area. The facility functions as a STEMI and stroke center and is supported by a catheterization lab and interventional radiology. The emergency department is staffed with physicians, physician assistants, and ED technicians with EMS backgrounds, along with a free charge nurse available 24/7. The facility maintains robust in-house support services around the clock to ensure comprehensive patient care.
