Opportunity:

EMT - Phlebotomy experience required

Job Details:

* Work in a high-volume, high-acuity Level 3 trauma center treating patients of all ages including adults and geriatrics
* Patient ratios of 9-11 patients per tech, though ratios may vary based on triage and boarding needs
* Work every other weekend
* No on-call requirements
* Minimum 6 months of experience required with acute care experience defined as Emergency Department or EMS
* Phlebotomy experience is required
* Primary responsibilities include peripheral venipuncture, blood culture collection, 12-lead EKGs, splinting, wound care, crutch and mobility teaching, maintaining sterile instruments and oxygen tank supplies, and assisting with patient flow in triage
* Work closely alongside staff EMTs, registered nurses, and physicians
* Required certifications: EMT, NREMT, or MN EMT
* Required skills include AED operation, glucometer use, immobilization of painful or swollen extremities, obtaining vital signs, and wound care
* Charting experience with Epic/Excellian required
* Scrub color: Light Teal (aquamarine)
* Requested time off restrictions: 5 days maximum
* 24 orientation hours included

This short-term acute care teaching hospital operates 317 staffed beds and serves as a Level 3 trauma center in an urban community setting. The facility is a comprehensive stroke center and heart-ready hospital featuring an in-house cardiac catheterization lab. The organization is a Magnet-recognized institution providing a full spectrum of advanced medical services supported by a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
