RN - PCU

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Multi Trauma Unit (MTU) with 20 beds
* Patient ratio of 1:4 with charge nurse free of patients
* Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 3 techs
* Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 5 nurses, and 2 techs
* Work with equipment including ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, specialty beds, suction, and chest tubes
* EMR system: Meditech/CPN
* Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital PCU experience required
* Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
* Perform and manage chest tubes, trauma patients, trachs, and suction
* Perform bedside bronchoscopy procedures
* Prior Meditech experience preferred
* NIH certification preferred
* Must be a team player with ability to manage highly acute patient population

This facility is a Level 1 trauma center featuring a highly specialized multi trauma unit with complex and interesting patient cases. The unit is known for its great teamwork, motivated nursing staff, and very supportive charge nurses. The facility boasts excellent tech support on both day and night shifts and benefits from a collaborative relationship with wonderful physicians who contribute to a positive working environment.
