Opportunity:

CHARGE NICU RN

Job Details:

* Level III NICU position with approximately 190 births per month
* Flexible scheduling available with 3x12 or 4x12 shift options
* Contract length of 13 to 26 weeks
* Weekend coverage required every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit needs
* No on-call required
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks as guaranteed hours policy
* May float to Mother/Baby unit for babies; full float possible with couplet care experience
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Patient ratios up to 1:3, staffed by acuity
* 14-bed NICU unit serving neonates and infants
* Patient diagnoses include prematurity, feeders and growers, RDS, NAS, sepsis, hypoglycemia, and jaundice
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Minimum 2 years of experience required with at least 1 year in NICU specialty
* Level III NICU experience required
* Travel experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced (willing to obtain Advanced NRP before start may be considered)
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Scrub color: Navy Blue for RNs

* Required skills include but are not limited to: arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line blood draw and care, high frequency ventilation, oscillators, PICC line management, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC management, neonatal dosage calculations, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
* Special procedures include central lines, ROP exams, spinal taps, and intubations
* Special equipment includes CPAP, BIPAP, smart pumps, feeding pumps, isolettes, warmers, and high frequency vents/oscillators
* Block scheduling not available
* All RTO must be submitted at time of presentation and approval is based on facility needs
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Orientation hours: 36
* 2 professional references required, covering 1 year within the last 3 years, to be submitted during compliance process prior to start

Facility:

This acute care hospital features a Level III NICU serving a large and diverse patient population, including a large Hispanic community, and holds a CCS designation. With 212 staffed beds, the facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary support. The NICU team is dedicated to providing specialized neonatal care with access to advanced equipment and a collaborative care environment.
