Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour shifts with a 3:00 PM start time (7-7)
* 2 weekends required per every 4 weeks
* 2 out of 3 holidays required
* No floating outside of the ER
* Patient ratio of 1:4 with an average of 210 patients seen
* 33 total patient care rooms with 25 rooms equipped with cardiac monitors
* Triage area staffed with midlevels, RNs, and LVNs utilizing 2 triage bays
* Charge nurse available 24/7
* ER Techs with EMT, MA, or CNA experience available to perform tech duties and EKGs
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Pharmacy available 24/7 with Omnicell
* GE telemetry with central monitor stations at both nurses stations
* Cerner EMR experience required - note facility where Cerner was used on resume
* Up to 6 shifts of orientation provided with a preceptor
* Typical ER patients seen; STEMIs, hemorrhagic strokes, and pediatric cases are transferred out
* Must have strong and thorough documentation skills
* Facility is stroke certified and serves as the base hospital for EMS
* ER nurses will take ER holds when needed
* No IV team on staff
* Scrub color required: Navy blue, including scrub jackets and undershirts must be navy, white, or black
* Self-scheduling unit; travel teams allowed but same schedule cannot be guaranteed
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* BSN not required
* Valid state nursing license required

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 33-bed emergency department and serves as the designated base hospital for local EMS services. The facility is stroke certified and follows EMTALA guidelines, ensuring care is provided to all patients regardless of insurance or ability to pay. The emergency department is supported by around-the-clock respiratory therapy, pharmacy services, and a robust team of up to five physicians and three midlevels at any given time.
