Job Details:

* Multiple shift options available including days (7:00 AM?7:00 PM or 9:00 AM?9:00 PM), mids (11:00 AM?11:00 PM or 1:00 PM?1:00 AM), and evenings/nights (3:00 PM?3:00 AM or 7:00 PM?7:00 AM)
* Shift type may switch during the contract but will remain consistent within a 6-week block
* Every other weekend rotation required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Holiday expectations include working 3 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Up to 5 days of time off may be approved
* Patient ratio of 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 for low acuity patients
* Care for patient types ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics including trauma, GSW, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, mental health, respiratory issues, adult psych, and chest pain
* High acuity receiving facility averaging 140?150 patients per day
* Minimum 1 year of strong ED experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB, and Traveler Competency Exam
* EPIC EMR experience required; IV Pumps: Alaris; Medication dispensing system: Pyxis
* Skills required include cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, knowledge of drips and medication administration, procedural sedation, blood administration, and cardiac medications
* Central and bedside telemetry monitoring at nursing station; no telemetry tech on unit
* Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start
* Scrub color: Any professional scrub colors accepted
* Piercings limited to modest/studs only; tattoos must not be offensive
* Free parking available in designated areas

Facility:

This facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level IV NICU with 60 beds, including 21 inpatient holding beds, 2 psychiatric rooms, and 14 hall spaces. The emergency department is fast-paced and team-oriented, with robust support including ER techs, charge nurses, a resource/float nurse, respiratory therapy available 24/7, an ED educator, security, a house supervisor, and pharmacy support during codes. The facility is known for being traveler-friendly, with many travelers choosing to extend their contracts.
