Opportunity:
ICU / Registered Nurse
Job Details:
* 3x12-hour night shifts per week
* Weekend shifts required
* Minimum 1.5 years of experience required
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Float required to CICU and other areas within the organization
* 50-mile radius rule applies; locals accepted at local rate
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Preferred charting system: Epic (required)
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1
* Self-scheduling model
* Must be licensed to practice in SC at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted
* 2 supervisory references required
* Keep time off requests to a minimum; any RTO must be approved and documented prior to start
* Expect to work some holidays
* Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, arterial line management, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), suctioning (ETT, NT), and isolation precautions/PPE
* Patient diagnoses include: GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, cardiac and respiratory arrest, overdose, suicide, CIWA/withdrawal, neurosurgical, surgical, post cardiac cath, end of life/comfort care, organ procurement, acute stroke, trauma, and targeted temperature management
* Special procedures include: chest tube insertion, EVD drains, CRRT, and acute stroke management
* Special equipment includes: CRRT, Zoll for targeted temperature management, and EKOS
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary

The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team and is equipped with specialized equipment to manage complex patient cases.
